Ka-band: Frequency range from 18 to 31 GHz; in satellite communications, the frequency band 17.75-19.50 GHz is used for transmission.
kbps: Kilo-bits per second (1000 bits per second).
Kelvin: K: the temperature measurement scale used in the scientific community, where 0 K represents absolute zero and corresponds to -273 degrees Celsius (-459 degrees Fahrenheit); thermal noise in an electronic system is measured in Kelvin.
kHz: Kilohertz: Hz × 103 (1000 Hz).

Ku-band: Frequency range from 10.5 to 17 GHz; in satellite communications, the frequency band 13.75-14.50 GHz for transmission and 10.7-12.75 GHz for reception.
